Nier Replicant follows an unnamed young boy and the trials he faces to save his sister, Yonah. A disease called the Black Scrawl inflicts Yonah, and her brother must try to find a cure before it takes her life. He will form alliances, make countless enemies, and discover the thousand-year-old secrets that plague his world.
As mentioned before, the boy and his sister are the main stars. The game also features a talking magical book named Grimoire Weiss, a foul-mouthed warrior named Kainé, and a mysterious recluse named Emil. Each character has unique abilities and a cryptic backstory that adds to the game’s complexity.
Nier Replicant’s Graphics

Nier Replicant’s Combat
Nier Replicant features both magical and physical combat. The physical combat is hack n’ slash-based as the player annihilates enemy hordes with large weapons and combos. Conversely, the player gets many magical spells allowing additional crowd control and damage.
Open World/Side Quests

The side quests often feature the same gameplay as the main quests but earn gold, allowing the player to buy items and weapons. The game’s soundtrack is strikingly beautiful, providing a pleasant and unique backdrop to each environment.

The Nier series is known for having games with multiple endings. Nier Replicant is no different, with the true ending being unlocked after playing the game for a fifth time; the ending grind isn’t boring, though, as only half of the game needs to be replayed, and new cutscenes are added to give more context to the game’s enemies, main characters, and world as a whole.
On an average day, Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 can be found on Steam, XBOX, and PlayStation for a full $59.99. A sale will normally bring the price to around $23.99.
